It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Miki Henson; our loving and devoted wife, mom and mama. Mom passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the age of 71, after a long hard-fought illness.
Miki Lorraine Holland was born March 21, 1949 in Oakland, California, the 3rd of 4 children born to William Mart Holland and Billie Jo (Springer) Holland. A child of a career military family, she lived in various places throughout her childhood. Her early years were spent in Oakland, followed by stops in Nevada and eventually the family moved to Holdenville, Oklahoma to be closer to family.
Miki later moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas and it was here she met the love of her life, Billy Dwayne Henson. By chance, while babysitting one evening, Billy and Miki met, and the rest as they say, is history. They married on October 10, 1966 in Fort Smith. They first made their home in Moore, where they welcomed two children, son Mike and daughter, Kimi. In 1982, they settled in Newcastle, and it has been their home ever since.
Miki worked at the General Motors plant in Oklahoma City. She retired after 25 years of employment. Miki was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and their families and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as mama to Hailee. She had such a kind heart and made friends and touched lives everywhere she went. Miki loved her flowers, and tended to her garden daily. She was an avid shopper, and loved to spoil her family. She was a woman of great faith, and a 46-year member of the Triumph Family Worship Center in Oklahoma City. Mom you will be dearly missed! We Love You!
