Mary Ella (Wilkerson) Henson
November 4, 1927 ~ October 2, 2019

Mary Ella Henson age 91 and 11 months of Barnsdall went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2019 at her residence in Barnsdall.

Mary Ella (Wilkerson) Henson was born November 4, 1927 in Barnsdall, only child to John and Bertie (Barkley) Wilkerson. Mary married Loyal Edward Henson on May 25, 1946 in Pawhuska and they made their home in Barnsdall. They attended the First Baptist Church of Barnsdall. Mary was very devoted to her church, worked with the children and the youth until 2004 when she became ill and no longer could. In her younger years she worked at Whites Rexall Drug, Bell Telephone as an operator, helped Verla Branstetter at Andy’s Hamburgers, drove test cars for the government with many women here in town. She enjoyed spending her spare time reading, loved bowling and being with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Mary is survived by her husband, Loyal Henson, three daughters, Glenda McCauley of Barnsdall, Brenda McKinney and husband Joe of Keifer, Oklahoma, Christa Brumley and husband Jeff of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandsons, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandsons, step brothers, several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Mary’s life will be at 11:00am Monday, October 7, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Private family inurnment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Baptist Children’s Home in her name at 12700 E. 76th St N. Owasso, Oklahoma
