Francis Avalee Henson passed into eternity Monday, February 3, 2020 at the age of 80 years in Amarillo, Texas. Francis was born December 3, 1939 to her parents Frazier and Roberta (Richardson) Harman in Canadian, TX.
Francis was raised in Reydon, OK where she met Harry Henson. On July 7, 1957 she and Harry were married in Wheeler, TX. In 1969 they moved to Amarillo, TX. Francis loved working in her flower beds, even receiving awards for the prettiest beds in town. She also, along with her sister Gracie, were avid Elvis fans collecting all things Elvis. The Graceland tour and candle lighted vigil were very special and important to both girls. Many hours were spent watching basketball games with Larry Bird of the Boston Celtics and the Spurs. But most of all, Francis loved her family and friends dearly.
Surviving Francis in death include her 1 daughter: Valrie and husband Todd Ruggles of Amarillo, TX; 2 sons: Jerry and wife Cynda and Bobby and wife Kris Henson of Amarillo, TX; 1 sister: Sabra and husband Larry McGlothlin of Durham, OK, 1 brother: Danny and wife Karen Harman of Durham, OK, 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Francis is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry in 2002, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2020 at Rose Chapel, Sayre with Pastor Alberta Hartley-Helton officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 1:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM at Rose Chapel, Sayre.
