George Henry Hensley

George Henry Hensley
January 2, 1946 ~ February 23, 2024

George Henry Hensley was born on January 2, 1946 to Gene and Francine (Drues) Hensley in Konawa, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on February 23, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He graduated from Battiest High School and then East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, obtaining a bachelor’s degree. George served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Lorraine McClain, on August 15, 1970 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, Oklahoma. To this union three girls were born, Amanda, Sarah and Christina. George and Lorraine had 53 wonderful years together before his passing. George was a computer programmer for the United States government, working at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma until his retirement. George had many hobbies, among these were fishing, gardening, playing chess, working with and on computers, caring for all of his and Lorraine’s animals, and tinkering around his property. George was a faithful servant of God and attended the Pink Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Francine Hensley; brother, Kenneth Hensley; brother, Billy Hensley; and niece, Dena Hensley.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Lorraine; his daughters, Amanda Jane Hensley-Clovis and husband Charlie Clovis; Sarah Jeanette Hensley; and Christina Hensley Spurgin; brother, Gene Dale Hensley and wife Sarah-Jane; sister-in-law, Barbara Hensley; and sister-in-law, Ann Hensley; grandchildren, Marc Clovis; Catie Clovis; Bradie Clovis; Sawyer Spurgin; Cambel Spurgin; Canyon Spurgin, along with other family members and a host of good friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pink Baptist Church, 30269 State Highway 9, Tecumseh, OK 74873.
