David Wayne Henshall

May 13, 1961 ~ January 8, 2022

David Wayne Henshall of Meeker,Ok left this earth on Jan. 8, 2022, at the age of 60. Dave was born on May 13. 1961 to Troy Wayne and Anna Jean (Gilliland) Henshall.

Dave moved to Yankton, South Dakota during High School and lived there for 33 years. He was employed at the Mike Durfee State Prison for 17 years as a Senior Correctional Officer, Safety Officer, and a member of the Hostage Negotiations team. Dave moved back to Meeker, OK in 2016 where he reunited with his friend Melissa, and later married on May 3, 2019. He referred to Melissa as the “love of his life.”

Dave was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan, and was so proud of his "Sooner Truck" that he could be seen cruising the streets of Meeker on a daily basis. He loved his family with all of his heart, and enjoyed spending time with them. Dave enjoyed listening to music and he was an excellent singer. Some of Dave's fondest memories growing up were spending time with his Dad and friends at the Meeker Rodeo Arena and driving cattle trucks.

Dave is survived by his wife, Melissa Henshall of the home, siblings Cathy Lindsey, Jerry Crisp, Christy Henshall, and Cassidy Thomson (Jason), Mother-in-law Mary Madden, sister-in-law Laura Benham (Craig), daughter Libby Cox (Barbie), grandchildren. Gavin, Ryker,and Amia, great granddaughter Alauna along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Anna Henshall, grandparents Lance Henshall and Lona Neely, Ralph and Rosa Gilliland, Aunt and Uncle Buddy Henshall, Sharron Henshall, nieces Charity Bussey, and Kristen Benham.
