Kathy Jean (Hargrove) Henry was born March 8, 1955 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Sheila Faye (Edelman) and Billy Dean Hargrove. She passed away September 2, 2018 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Kathy grew up in Sayre where she attended schools graduating in 1973. After graduation, she began going to the race track with her father where she found her love of horses. She started at the low end and worked her way up until the age of 30 when she obtained her horse trainer license. Kathy continued working with horses at the Churchill Downs race track until she became disabled and even then ran the kitchen for all the staff, jockeys and patrons. In 2003 Kathy moved back to Sayre where she made her home. She enjoyed listening to music, caring for her dogs and babysitting her granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her father, step-father and one sister Tana Smith.
She is survived by 1 son, Lucas Henry, Lawton, OK; 1 granddaughter, Aubreana Henry, Sayre, OK; 1 grandson, Connor Munchel, Sayre, OK; the grandchildren's mother, Mariah Munchel, Sayre, OK; her mother, Sheila Puckett; 2 brothers, Mike Hargrove, Marshall, MI and Danny Hargrove, Howell, MI and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services.
