Henry Eugene Henley
Jan. 4, 1925 ~ Jan. 11, 2014

1925 � 2014 Henry Eugene Henley, 89, of Pond Creek, Okla., was the son of Goldie and Edward Henley. He was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Pond Creek, Okla. Henry passed from this life and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in Perry, Okla., with his children by his side.

On Oct. 9, 1952, Henry and Ellen Alexander were married In Pond Creek, where they lived for 61 years. Ellen now lives in Perry, Okla.

Henry was a lifetime resident of Pond Creek, where with his brother, Edward Henley, operated Henley Brothers Hardware through 1994, and Henley Brothers Farm through 2012.

He was a Master Mason and was Past Master of the Pond Creek Masonic Lodge, having served as Worshipful Master from 1960-1961. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong member of Pond Creek United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities as a Sunday school teacher and MYF leader.

Henry was a loving caregiver for his wife and family. He loved building with his hands, fixing things and playing a friendly joke. He will always be remembered by those who knew him for his keen sense of humor and willingness to help with any repair project.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at United Methodist Church, Pond Creek, Okla. The Rev. George M. Lupton will officiate. Service is under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Okla.

Memorials may be made to Pond Creek Ambulance Service and Alzheimer's Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Henry is survived by his wife, Ellen Henley; son, James E. Henley and wife Mollye of Perry, Okla.; daughter, Sandra Jennings and husband John of Weatherford Texas; three grandchildren, Clinton Henley and wife Bailey, Jill Daft and husband Cody, and Allison Riggs and husband James; two stepgranddaughters, D'Lesa and husband Randy Graves, and Julie and husband Charles McClure; and six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dalton and Barrett Daft, Graye and Henley Riggs and Sydney Graves.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Goldie Henley, and brothers, Edward Henley and John Henley.

A special thank you to the Companion Hospice of Guthrie for their loving care and support. Also, thank you to Wilsons Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.
