Billy Gene "Bill" Hendrix

Billy Gene "Bill" Hendrix
October 26, 1939 ~ October 14, 2018

Billy (Bill) Gene Hendrix, 78 years 11 1/2 months, of Bartlesville, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018, with his wife and daughter by his side.

Bill was born October 26, 1939 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma to parents Lena Mae (Kelley) Carpenter and Asa Hendrix. Bill graduated from Tulsa Barber College in 1957 and began his 57-year career of barbering in downtown Bartlesville, where he owned his own shop called Crystal Barbershop.

He married Carol Jean Rogers in 1960. Out of this union, the couple had one daughter, Tana Sue Disney-Pate.

It was said that Bill was a gentle, caring TRUE gentleman. All who knew him stated they never met a person that did not like him. He was a perfect son, husband, dad, and grandpa and he will be sorely missed.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, of the home; daughter, Tana Pate and son-in-law, Casey Pate; four grandchildren, Lindsey and husband Emmanuel Loredo, Nicholas, Jacob, and Haylea Pate; two great-grandchildren, Ava and London; and 3 dogs, Boomer, Molly and Rylo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena Mae Carpenter and stepfather Edgar Carpenter; mother-in law and father-in-law, Ruby Clara and Elmer Woodrow Rogers; aunt and uncle, Mary and Paul Kelley; and other family members.

Services to celebrate a wonderful life that made a beautiful difference will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 3, 2018, in the sanctuary at First Wesleyan Church, 1776 Silver Lake Road in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with a reception to follow.
