Billy Hugh "Bud" Hendricks

Billy Hugh "Bud" Hendricks
???? ~ December 24, 2016 | Age 74

Billy Hugh (Bud) Hendricks, 74, of Harrison, passed away during the early morning hours of December 24, 2016. He was of the Church of Christ faith. He was born in the Sunnyside Community at Center Ridge Arkansas to Willie Jennings Hendricks and Oma Mae Flowers Hendricks. He was preceeded in death by a sister, Lola Mae Hendricks Blackshire, and two younger siblings, Jimmy and Ruby.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara McClellan Hendricks and children, Delona Hendricks Youngblood (Roger Orr), Randy (Jill) Hendricks, Michael Howard, and Mitchell Hendricks all of Harrison, he had eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his twin sister, Mary Lou Hendricks Gentry, of Center Ridge, and brother, Ben (Darlene) Hendricks, of Center Ridge, and Ron (Donna) Hendricks, of Plumerville, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Bud started a career in Walmart in 1966, spanned many decades. He was a very close and personal friend of the late Sam Walton. He had many interesting stories to tell, and was the favorite boss of many of his employees. Bud was a Manager who set-up and started new Walmart stores. He also trained Managers for Corporate over the span of his career. This took him from Morrilton, to Conway, and on to Stilwell Oklahoma, Harrison twice, Georgia, Illinois and finally to Iola, Kansas, where he last retired in 2003. Retirement just didn't seem to suit him. So, he returned to work for the Boone County Special School District at the Preschool, Circle of Friends, another job, that he loved for several years, and had recently retired from.

He was an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Harrison Police Department, and was involved in Search and Rescue. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner, and it is certain that he will be missed by many friends, throughout the Country.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Dennis Corder officiating.
Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Online guestbook:
