Frances Joye (Bruza) Henderson

Frances “Joye” Henderson age 92, of Meeker, Oklahoma, departed this life on July 16, 2023. Joye was born to Jim and Thelma Bruza on May 31, 1931, at home on a little country farm in Aydelotte, OK.

She graduated from Meeker with honors and chose Meeker as her lifelong home. During this time, Joye was an active member of her community and served as city clerk for several years. Joye was also employed by and retired from Kerr McGee after 20+ years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1938.

Joye is survived by brother Jim Bruza, Oklahoma City, Daughter Donna Coffman (Bobby) of Moore, granddaughters Lorie Hedge (Randy) of Chandler, and Sherri Davis (Danny) of Bristow, grandsons Shane Pickering of Mississippi, Joe Coffman of Moore, Jacob Coffman of Moore. Great grandchildren Christian Davis (Katlynn), Logan Davis (Lexi), Ashley Pickering, Macy Hedge, and Amber Pickering.

Joye was preceded by parents Jim and Thelma Bruza, sisters Betty Crownover and Sue Guillory, son Jimmie Don and grandson Richard Dewayne Gouker.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Meeker. Viewing will be held 30 minutes prior. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
