Roy Dean Helton

March 15, 1945 ~ July 8, 2021

Roy Dean Helton, son of the late Clarence Lee and Viola Belle (Icke) Helton, was born March 15, 1945, in McAlester, Oklahoma, and passed away July 8, 2021, at the age of 76 years. Roy was cremated at his request and no services are planned at this time.

Roy graduated from Waynoka High School with the Class of 1963. He then enlisted in the United States Navy where he faithfully served his country for 20 years, retiring as Senior Chief Storekeeper. On May 14, 1966, he was united in marriage to Doris Baker in Waynoka.

After his retirement, they moved back to Waynoka where he was a handyman and worked in the maintenance department at NWOSU. They moved to Enid where he worked for 17 years as a warehouse manager at Northcutt Chevrolet until his retirement.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lee Helton, Johnny Thomas Helton, and James Adam Helton, and three sisters, May Belle Ross, Lola Elizabeth Tomlinson, and Eva Iola McDowell.

Roy is survived by his wife, Doris Helton, of Enid; one son, Roy Dean Helton, Jr. of Broken Arrow; one daughter, Teresa Herren and husband, Monty, of Avard; one sister, Ruby Lee Maggard and husband, Marvin, of Pueblo, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Helton of Duncan and Lois Rhodes and husband, Bill, of Carmen; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and countless friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
