Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, May 21, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Art Gafke of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Jim was born in Stigler, Oklahoma and had been a resident of Kern County for sixty-eight years. He married Mary Smothers in 1940 and together they raised three children. Jim had worked for Oil drilling companies and had been on some of the deepest holes drilled in Kern County in the fifties.

Survivors include his daughter, Jeanie Zimmerman; sons, Alan and wife, Barbara of Bakersfield, Michael and Sandy of Temecula; 8 grandchldren; and 11 great grandchildren survive him. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association of Kern County, Center of Central California, 3313 N. Hilliard Ln., Fresno, CA 93726.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
