Connie Hedges, 68 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 in Woodward. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating and the family will receive friends after until 3:00 p.m. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Connie Lee (Harrison) Hedges was born on February 5, 1953 at the Northwest Community Hospital in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Arthur Eugene and Donna Lee (Owens) Harrison. Connie grew up in Woodward and graduated from Woodward High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Carl Hedges on November 7, 1969 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Woodward and moved to Mooreland in 1975. Connie was currently working for Alliance Health Woodward as a Medical Records Specialist and had worked there for many years.
She loved being together and spending time with her family, gardening, crafts, but most of all Connie loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband R.C. Hedges of the home; mother, Orpha Evans; son, Ryan C. Hedges and wife Tracy; foster daughter, Summer Lewis; three grandchildren, Riley Conner Hedges, Ryker Cale-Dean Hedges, Symphany Corysah Duke; brother, Lyle Owens; sisters: Sonya Coleman and husband Steve, Teresa Smith and husband Kevin, Bonnie Caldwell and husband Mark; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mona Windolph, Carol Vloedman and husband Henry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
We loved her so much. She was the Rock of the family.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Lee Owens-Harrison, grandparents, Cliff and Leonna Owens, Roy and Lyda Patton and Louis Evans.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
