Lucille Skidmore "Granny" Heath

Lucille Skidmore "Granny" Heath, 72, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Jim Fox of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Heath was born in Dothan, Ala., to Albert Stanton Rutherford and Hattie Hutto Rutherford. She moved to Amarillo from Roswell, N.M., in 1959. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Eastern Star and AARP. She was a hostess for many years at Ding How Restaurant on Amarillo Boulevard. She resided with a special daughter-in-law, Lawanna J. Skidmore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. Heath in 1992; and a grandson, Kevin Bayne Skidmore in 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Counts Skidmore of Lawton, Okla., and George William "Bill" Skidmore of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Karen Bednarz of Rapid City, S.D.; two brothers, Roland Rutherfod of Lumberton and Raphael Rutherford of Jonesboro, Ga.; a sister, Ruth Lucas of Dothan; five grandchildren, Angelina Marie Trimble and Donnie Joe Skidmore, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Larry Dale Skidmore and Dustin William Wayne Skidmore, both of Amarillo, and Harold Counts Bednarz of Rapid City; and nine great-grandchildren.
