Ronald Allen Hazlett

Ronald Allen Hazlett
April 21, 1958 ~ March 9, 2022

The memorial service for Ronald A. Hazlett, retired Major, USAF, and 63-year-old Enid resident, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel. Chaplain Christian Black will officiate.

Ronald was born April 21, 1958, in Vancouver, Washington, to Bill and Berneita (Martin) Hazlett Sr. and died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.

He graduated from Oregon City High School with the class of 1976. He then attended the University of Portland, graduating in 1980 with a BA in mechanical engineering. He was a distinguished graduate of Air Force ROTC, graduating as a 2nd Lieutenant.

On May 31, 1980, he married Donita Richards on the campus of the University of Portland. The couple lived in Portland until he entered pilot training in Columbus, Mississippi. The couple later moved to Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida.

The couple then moved to RAF Upper Heyford, England, The couple came to Enid in 1992 where he flew T-38's at Vance Air Force Base. Then in 1992 he went to work for NATO at Sembach Air Base, Gemany. The couple returned to Enid to care for Ronald's aging parents.

Ronald was a member of NOC Community Band, a life member of the Air Force Association and also the Experimental Aircraft Association. His great love was flying. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, camper, and loved his vegetable garden.

He is survived by his wife, Lt. Col. Donita Hazlett of the home; his daughter, Katheryn Evans and husband Daniel of Wales, U.K.; and his brothers, Brian Hazlett and wife Toni and Bill Hazlett Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to either the American Cancer Association or the Experimental Aircraft Association -Young Eagles.
