Norman R.A. Hayes, 76, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010. He was born October 9, 1933 in Statesville, North Carolina the son of Noah Andrew and Annis (Holloway) Hayes.
Norman's work ethic and dependability began at a young age when Norman provided his own transportation, by foot, to a factory job several miles away from the family home. This dependability would follow Norman through his enlistment in the U.S. Air Force and later as a foreman for the installation of indoor fire sprinkler systems for thirty years.
Norman enjoyed hunting, walleye fishing at Lake Stanley Draper, gardening, playing guitar, and singing country and western music with his friends and family. A loving husband, father and a loyal friend, Norman was a 'believer' and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Norman was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Paula Wyatt; brother, Jack and sister, Lula Mae.
He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Gwen; children: Mona, Lisa and Vincent; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby; sister, Linda and a host of other relatives and friends. Services for Norman will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel.
