Rick Lee Hawkins

Rick Lee Hawkins
June 7, 1955 ~ December 31, 2022

Rick L. Hawkins, 67, of Paden, OK went home on Saturday, December 31st, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Rick was born on June 7th, 1955 in Buckhannon, West (by God) Virginia to Norman E. and Annabelle Hawkins where he graduated high school in 1974. After graduating, he began pursuing his career as a West Virginia State Trooper and also met Katherine Hanna, who he then married on January 23rd, 1988 and had three children before divorcing in 2009.

Rick and the family moved to Prague, OK in 2001 and Paden in 2003. Rick was a staple of the community, being well-known for his selfless acts of love and service. He had immense care and concern for everyone in the community and possessed the willingness to lend a hand (or a tool) whenever needed. Rick was the owner and operator of HamHawk Pilot Cars and loved yardwork, especially mowing grass. He liked that he could do something and listen to his Gospel music at the same time. He would always put others before himself, even if it put him out in some way. He was also as stubborn as could be. But no matter how hard life swung at him, he swung harder.

Rick never met a stranger; he loved to laugh and visit with everyone. Anytime anyone was down on their luck or just having a sad day, they could count on him to bring a smile to their face, be it by telling an off-color joke or regaling them with one of his many stories. No matter the situation, he would always help you find a reason to laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to mourn his loss yet cherish his memory, include his daughter Andrea Shelton of Stillwater and grandchildren Novalee, Collin and Spencer, son Nathan and wife Samantha Hawkins and granddaughter Lyla of Lancaster, PA, son James and wife Nikki Hawkins of Harrah, brothers Norman Hawkins of French Creek, WV, Bob and wife Ruth Hawkins of Buckhannon, WV, and Tim and wife Sammie of Alabama.

Though right now we mourn the loss of pillar of the community, if you listen closely you can hear once more, "Let's Gooooooo, Mountaineers!"
