On December 27, 1989, our family received a blessing and a loan from our Lord and Savior. That blessing was the birth of Micala Dawn Hastings, loaned to her extended family until God decided he needed her closer to him. So on November 9, 2017, God reclaimed Micala. Micala was born to Michelle R. Collier and Michael Hastings at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City, OK. Micala resided in Edmond, OK with her mother until the age of 13, at which time she moved to Utah to live with her father. She resided in Utah until her death at the age of 27.
Micala was preceded in death by her grandfather, Zack R. Williams, and two uncles, Zack R. Williams II and Alan Hastings.
She is survived by her mother, father, stepfather Dan Collier and stepmother Nora Hastings; two brothers, Mitchell B. Hastings, his wife Andi, and their daughter Jordan, and Lane Hastings; three sisters, Meleah R. Emerson, Cara Hastings, and Bridget Hastings; her maternal grandmother LaVonn A. Williams; her paternal grandparents Floyd and Roseann Hastings; an uncle, Jim Hastings; her stepfather for many years, Mark Emerson; an extended family who loved her very much; and a lifelong group of friends.
A memorial service in celebration of Micala's life will be held at 3:00 pm at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St, Norman, OK.
