Ellen Elizabeth Haskew-Doty was born August 16, 1925 in Veteran, Wyoming to Arnold and Edith (Cross) Garnick. She passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at her home in Copan, Oklahoma.
Ellen was born and raised around Esterbrook, Wyoming. She also lived in Longmont, Colorado where she was employed as an expanded duty dental assistant with Dr. Wayne Castle. Upon retirement she and husband Walter decided to be snow birds between Arizona and Wyoming. Ellen had made Copan, Oklahoma. She loved the ranch and was the caretaker for eight years She worked hard to get the orchard established. She was known as the "pied piper" because of all the chickens, guineas and turkeys that followed her around the yard. Ellen loved to get on the zero-turn mower and keep the yard up. In 2015 her granddaughter, Laura Langley, and great granddaughter, Rylee, moved to Oklahoma to help care for her. Ellen loved having them near and seeing Rylee grow and visit her. She loved to get in the "mule" and ride back into the trees in "God's County". She loved her Bible and was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Ellen is survived by one daughter, Lynne Barber of Copan, Oklahoma; one son, Randy Barber and his wife, Nancy of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; one step son, Steve Haskew and his wife, Ann of Lyons, CO; one son-in-law, Gene Schriner of Copan, OK; one sister, Avice Fuerst of Douglas, Wyoming; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Haskew; husband, Wilber Doty; one son, Gary Barber; four brothers, Everett, LeRoy, Dale, and Lloyd Garnick; and one sister, Francis Holmes.
A meal will be served at 5:30 with memorial services to follow at 7, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bartlesville with Pastor Randy Barber officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Davis Family Funeral Home.
