Edna Hartness*, age 81 of Noble, entered Heaven’s gates Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
One of nineteen children, Edna Lee Seely was born February 5, 1937 in Winganon, OK. Her parents were George and Jessie (Hibbard) Seely.
Edna was raised near Chelsea around Pryor Creek, and attended Chelsea Schools, graduating in 1957. By Divine appointment, Edna met a young service man who had just returned from Korea. His name was E.C. Hartness and he had come to Chelsea to visit his mother. They instantly fell in love and were later married at his Aunt’s place in Tulsa. Edna worked alongside E.C., surrendering to the call of Ministry, as a Pastor’s wife. She was a woman of strong faith, and considered it great joy to share the love of Christ. A little more than 46 years ago, they accepted the call to serve the Antioch Baptist Church, and have since called Noble home. Edna also worked for more than 30 years for Walmart, retiring as a clerk. Edna’s greatest joy however was her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished her time spent with them, and looked forward to picnics at Sulphur and visiting the duck pond on the OU campus. She was an excellent cook, and looked forward to family get togethers. Edna leaves a strong legacy, and will be remembered for her faith, her love of family and we look forward to our Heavenly reunion.
