Virginia Ann "Ginger" (Watson) Hartman

July 31, 1942 ~ May 3, 2021

Memorial services for Virginia "Ginger" Ann Watson Hartman, 78, of Burneyville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson with Reverend Mike Johnston and Reverend Jimmy May officiating.

Born July 31, 1942 at Healdton, the daughter of Arthur Arville and Ruby Corine Hanson Watson, she died Monday, May 3, 2021 in Ardmore.

Ginger was raised in Fox and Healdton attending school in both towns. She married Glenis Hartman on June 7, 1958 and they primarily made their home in Leon. Ginger worked initially as a carhop in Healdton, then the Turner School cafeteria, as a housekeeper at Falconhead Country Club and Red River Ranch, a CNA at Mercy Health Love County and lastly as a caregiver to the elderly within their homes. Glenis preceded her in death on March 18, 2006. She continued to reside in Leon, always loving to garden, plant flowers and fish. Ginger enjoyed watching her grandkids at their ballgames. She was a member of Milo Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don, Dean, and Doug Watson; and a sister, Deloris Willis.

Survivors include her daughters, Glenda May and husband Jimmy, Tammie Hartman, and Michelle Buckhanon, all of Ardmore; sisters, Martha Springman of Lindsay and Bettye Gillespie of South Carolina; grandchildren, Kristi Douglass and husband Monte, Tiffany Williams and husband Daniel, Shani Belcher and husband Zac, and Devyn Buckhanon and wife Chelsi; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Herbie Hartman and wife Sue of Marietta; sister-in-law, Marlene Hartman of San Antonio; and two canine companions, Callie and Miley.
