John Hart

January 8, 1912 ~ May 7, 2004

Funeral service for John Hart, age 92, of Lindsay, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2004, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Hornbeck will officiate.

John was born the son of Frank and Gertrude Hart, on January 8, 1912, in Amber, Oklahoma. He died on May 7, 2004, in Norman, Oklahoma.

John lived in the Ninnekah area as a young boy and graduated from Ninnekah High School. He moved to Death Valley in California, where he lived until entering the U.S. Army during WW II. During his service, John was wounded in action and received the purple heart, as well as other military commendations. After the war, he returned to Chickasha and started Chickasha Manufacturing with his brother. He later sold his part of the business to his brother and began ranching. John ranched in the Lindsay area for nearly forty years.

John married Jeanne Williams on September 9, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George Hart, two sisters, Lucille Beatty and Dora Willis.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Hart of Lindsay; son and wife, Phillip Hart and Karen, of Mustang; daughter and husband, Beverly Folmar and Hal, of Norman; daughter and husband, Sandra Hover and Charles, of Ponca City; son and wife, Larry Judkins and Diana, of Ventura, CA; daughter and husband, Linda Eslinger and Mike, of Yukon; brother, Albert Hart, of Lindsay; brother, Larkin Hart, of Chickasha; brother, Raymond Hart, of Lindsay; sister, Grace Scott, of Gainesville, TX; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
