Paul Richard Harris, a cherished husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away in his hometown of Durant, Oklahoma, on October 18, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on March 7, 1943, in Durant to Alvin and Onita (Jenks) Harris.
Paul worked as a mechanic and was always known to be tinkering with something. Beyond his work, Paul was often found singing, a pastime that brought him and others joy. He also enjoyed fishing, finding peace in waiting for a catch. Yet, it was the time spent with his grandchildren that he enjoyed the most.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of the home, Patsy Riter, his sons, Paul Richard Harris, Jr. and Terrie of Mead, Oklahoma, Alton Harold Morris and Tristan of Platter, Oklahoma, Norman Johnson and Becky of Platter, Oklahoma, James Johnson of Platter, Oklahoma, Jessie Wayne Harris and Doris of Durant, Oklahoma, and his daughter Nancy Pearl Smith also of Durant, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind his brothers Lee Harris with Becky of Florida, Clifford Harris of Texas, and sister Barbara Harris of Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Onita Harris, his son Edward Paul Harris, and his brothers Danny Harris, Gene Harris, and Richard Harris.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Life Church, 15040 Hwy 48, Kenefic, Oklahoma 74748. Brother Tom Golden and Brother Randy Tadlock will officiate.
