June 26, 1946 ~ January 17, 2023

Nancy J. Harris, age 76, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Shawnee.

She was born into a large family one of seven children on June 26, 1946 to Marion “Chalmers” and Rachel “Naomi” (Derryberry) Neighbors in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Nancy was raised in Shawnee and graduated in 1964 from Shawnee High School. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Social Services in May 2006.

She worked as a machinist at TDK until her retirement.

Nancy was a member of Dale Church of Christ. She was a Sci-Fi Fan and loved watching Star Trek, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica and Supernatural, along with comedies, The 3 Stooges and Christmas Vacation.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marion “Chalmers” Neighbors; her mother, Rachel “Naomi Rutledge; sister, Charlene Bunnell; and brothers, C. L. Richards and Robert Richards.

Those left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Crystal L. Monaco of Shawnee, OK and Shannon M. Pettus of Navarre, FL; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Kevin and Pam Nail of Purcell, OK and David W. Nail of Bullhead City, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Ericka Nail, Christopher Nail, Ashley Monaco, Taylor Hicks, Patrick Teeter, Amanda Teeter and Travis Teeter; 15 great-grandchildren, Logan Nail, Maisie Nail, Kylie Nail, Alex Nail, Cameron Nail, MaKayla Nail, Tyson Nail, Brianna McIntire, Arianna McIntire, Kaleb McIntire, Ahana Walker, Hosea Teeter, Talia Teeter, Zeke Teeter and Travis J. Teeter, Jr.; 3 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Horn of Tulsa, OK, Martha Richards of Dallas, TX and Roberta Richards of Shawnee, OK; and many loving friends and extended family.

Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with David Cannon, Dale Church of Christ officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
