Michael Ray “Big Dog” Harris, age 56, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
He was born October 27, 1968 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Franklin and Donna (Morris) Harris.
Mike spent his childhood in Harrah and Tishomingo. Graduating Tishomingo High School in 1987. Sports were very important to Mike, excelling in football.
After high school Mike enlisted in the Navy as a corpsman field medic, serving stateside. He then went to work at Midwest City Hospital as a surgical tech, and continued his career at AAR Corporation, refueling at Will Rogers World Airport.
He was blessed with a daughter in 1994 from his first marriage, Courtney, and they resided in Shawnee.
On February 2, 2002 Mike and Frani McMahan were married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
In 2005 Mike and Frani moved to Seminole, where he worked at land management and raised cattle.
Mike loved the Lord.
An avid outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing all of his life. He loved going Elk hunting in Colorado and New Mexico and his deer hunting trips in Antlers and Tishomingo, Oklahoma. He was family focused and loved to cook, he loved music and karaoke parties. He had a beautiful voice, auditioning once for The Voice. Talking about politics and the love he had for his country were among his favorite topics. His daughter and grandkids were the light of his life. He loved being a Papa most of all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Frani Harris of the home; daughter, Courtney and Zac McBride of Newcastle, OK; mother, Donna Morris of Shawnee, OK; brothers, Doni Harris of Grand Island, NE, Mickel Dean Manwell of Jones, OK; sisters, Halley Morris of Oklahoma City, OK, Sherry Heveron of Harrah, OK, Frankie Bryant of Oklahoma City, OK, Kristie Harris of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Maybelle McBride and Sawyer McBride, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins, of Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, Oklahoma officiating.
