Mike Harris, resident of Drumright, passed from this life unexpectedly while on vacation in Galveston, Texas on February 2, 2025 at the age of 70 years, 4 months, & 27 days. The family will hold private services for him at a later date.
Mike was born in Macon, Georgia on September 6, 1954 & was raised & educated in Sapulpa, Oklahoma by the late Arlen Harris & Naomi (Buff) Harris. He was a 1972 graduate of Sapulpa High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, OK. After securing a Track & Field Scholarship, he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Mike met his wife Anita (Partridge) in 1986 and in 1988, they were united in marriage. Mike had worked as a plant manager for Sonoco products in Longview, TX until his retirement in 2014 which brought them to Drumright. At the time of his death, he was working part-time at the Cushing Walmart. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and going on “Date Night” with his wife Anita for the past 39 years. He also enjoyed watching OU football, softball, & women’s gymnastics. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and having them over for cookouts when he would make his famous “Mikey Burgers”. He was an amazing husband, a great dad, and a wonderful Papa, brother, uncle, and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Brother: Tommy Moore.
His remaining family includes his loving WIFE: Anita of Drumright; CHILDREN: Gennifer Harris & husband Josh of Coweta – Lesli Smith & husband Tim of Glenpool – Michele Dudley of Drumright – Jon Dudley & wife Gennifer of Drumright; GRANDCHILDREN: Conor – Colin – Isabella – Miguel – Coleton – Ashlynn – Garin – Austin - & Ryan; 3 GREAT Grandchildren: Charlie – Elli - & True; 1 BROTHER: Steve Harris & wife Peggy of Wyoming; and a HOST of other relatives and friends.
