Delmar (Dickie) Leon Harris was born to Delmar and Elsie Harris on April 26, 1943, in Sapulpa, OK. Dickie departed this life on April 07, 2024, at his home in Gypsy, OK.
On April 25, 1964, Dickie married Judy Williams and within this union were born 7 children. Jeff Harris of Terlton, OK, Mike Harris of Sparks, OK, Roger Harris and wife Shelley Harris of Stroud, OK, Richard Harris and wife Tami Harris of Wellston, OK, Kerry Guthrie and husband Paul Guthrie of Bristow, OK, Jerry Harris of Ada, OK, and Shawn Harris and wife Denisha Harris of Stroud, Ok. Also, his four-legged kiddo Rowdy of Gypsy, OK. Dickie had 24 grandchildren, 34 great children, one great-great grandchild and his four-legged kiddo.
Dickie was employed with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for many years. He had a great talent with his hands, he was a carpenter by trade. He loved making things out of wood and if he didn't like the way it looked, he would keep working on it until it was to his liking. He was a perfectionist when it came to his building. Anyone that knew Dickie would agree with his building skills, he made sure it was done correctly. Dickie also had many hobbies. In his younger years he was an avid game chicken owner; later in his life he took a liking to Brahma cattle and had many as the years went by.
He loved each one of his kids and grandchildren in his own way. If you knew Dickie, you were going to love him or hate him. He was very stern and very outspoken, and he would tell you how the cow eats the cabbage. But most of all he was a husband, a father and a grandfather and a friend.
Dicky is preceded in death by the love of his life Judy Harris of 59 years, Grandson Blake Evan Harris, Parents Delmar and Elsie Harris. One brother Billy Ray, Four sisters- Leola, Barbara, Eva and Janice.
