Wanda Joan (Keithley) Harp

Wanda Joan (Keithley) Harp
November 6, 1935 ~ May 28, 2017

Wanda Joan Harp, 81 years, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 28, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Wanda was born November 6, 1935, to Ida Mae (Tugwell) and D.V. Keithley.  She attended schools in Durant and lived most of her life there,

Wanda spent 31 years at the First National Bank (First Texoma) serving as teller and cashier.  Most of us can remember her and her “always willing to help” at the first window in the downtown location.  She retired in 1990 due to health issues.

She was a “Cradle Member” of East Side Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, Treasurer, booster for the youth, and loyal member until its closing.  She was also a longtime supporter and volunteer at Loaves and Fishes.  She was a member of the Bushnell Baptist Church.

The most cherished “title” she had was Grandmama to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was known by many in the community by her smile, graciousness, and treating all as equals.

She is survived by her husband Joe Harp, of the home.  Children Kenna/Ken Kissel, Calera; Mike/Paula Harp, Durant; and Brad/Jan Harp, Sanger, TX.  Brother Johnny/Ailene Keithley, Calera, niece Johnna/Michael Towne, Durant and brother in law Loyd Harp/Connie, Garland, TX., and sister in law Linda Plyer, Durant, OK.

Grandchildren Kris/Olga Marshall, Lockhart, TX; Stephanie/Jordon Johnson, Silo; Laura Kissel, Houston, TX; Chad/Sarah Harp, Calera; and Micha/Matthew Gilbert, Alexandria, VA.

Great grandchildren Christopher Garrett, Durant; Madisyn/Jon Romano, Coalgate; Beau Garrett, Durant, Zac Garrett, Durant, Michelle Garrett, Gardner, KS, Collin Marshall, Seguin, TX; Jared Marshall, Destin, FL, Alyssa Marshall, San Antonio, TX; Marissa and Amanda Ramos, Lockhart, TX; Cole Johnson, Silo; Dillon and Ellison Harp, Calera; and Jonathan Marshall, Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by son Eddy Marshall, granddaughter Larisa (Marshall) Garrett, and parents D.V. and Ida Mae Keithley. The family respectfully suggest memorials be made in Wanda's name  to the Goodland Academy, 1216 N. 4200 Road, Hugo, OK 74743.

A Memorial service will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Kim McGehee officiating, family hour beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, Durant.
