Michael Don Hardy

Oct. 18, 1949 ~ July 16, 2004

Michael Don Hardy, age 54, of Oklahoma City, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 16, 2004 at his home.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1949 in Oklahoma City. He was the fourth child of nine children born to Elvin Deral Hardy and Dorothy Mae Knight Hardy.

Michael grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Central High School.

Early in his life he began driving a truck and working on diesels. This led him to his life-long career in the trucking industry.

For nearly 24 years he worked for DonCo. Carriers as a truck driver and diesel mechanic. For the past five months he had worked for City Trailers in Oklahoma City.

On July 26, 1983 he married Katie Lumen; together they lived in Oklahoma City and raised three children.

Michael loved being outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his two sons and his brother, Junior.

His family will always treasure the special memories they have of him as a husband, father, grandfather and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Dorothy Hardy; and one brother, Jerry Hardy.

Survivors include his wife, Katie of the home; two sons, Donald and Jake Hardy of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Kimberly Flowers and husband Ryan of Carthage, N.C.; three brothers, Junior Hardy and wife Marianne of Choctaw, Roger Hardy and wife of Yukon, and David Hardy and wife Lela of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Deralene Bingham and husband Bill of Tuttle, Judy Sanders and husband Wayne of Moore, Charlotte Rose and husband Earl of Wellston, and Debra Stitt of Oklahoma City; one grandson, Michael Flowers; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Airport Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Stafford.

Pallbearers will be Donald and Jake Hardy, Eric Kennedy, Deral and Mark Hardy and Jonathan Rose.

Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle, Okla.
