Wakita – Funeral service for the Rev. Richard Hardesty, 76, who died Friday in a Wakita hospital after a lengthy illness, was at 10 AM today in the United Methodist Church in Wakita. The reverends Harwood Rowe and Charles Claycomb and Dr. George Graham officiated. Arrangements are being made by Morrison Funeral Service. Cremation will follow in Wichita, Kansas.
He and Lois Lei Van were married September 2, 1926, in Winfield and she survives him.
Other survivors are one son, Robert Hardesty, Leavenworth, Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. L. J. (Marguerite) Lohrenz, Lawrence, Kansas; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the Community Health Center in Wakita or the United Methodist Pension Fund of Kansas or Oklahoma.
