Services for Betty Faye Haraway, 85, of Stonewall will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday evening, January 30, 2015 from 7:00 � 8:30 pm at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Haraway died Monday, January 26, 2015 at her daughter's home in Fayetteville, AR. She was born March 24, 1929 in Oklahoma City to Alonzo Robert Campbell Sizemore and Maude Cleveland Turner Sizemore. She attended grade school at Culbertson Elementary and graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor University, the University of Oklahoma and graduated from East Central University.
She married Jackson D. Haraway on August 25, 1950 at Trinity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She and Jack moved to Ada July 1956 from Kansas City, MO. Mrs. Haraway was a Review Supervisor for 10 years for the Oklahoma Foundation for Peer Review and later an ombudsman at Jan Frances Care Center in Ada. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Ada and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority, the Ada Rotary Club and several ladies social circles in town.
Survivors include her husband Dr. Jackson Dean Haraway; two sons, Stuart Dean Haraway, M. D. and wife Eva of Fort Smith, AR and Stephen Jackson Haraway of Houston, TX; a daughter, Lucinda Lea Hammons and husband Reve of Fayetteville, AR; her grandchildren, Alyx Jordan Haraway, Anna Elise Hammons Hellier, Emma Lea Hammons, Samuel Dean Haraway, Madison Rose Haraway and Abigail Lee Anne Haraway.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eula Mae Sizemore and Edna Melissa Sizemore Bond and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a tax deductible donation to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Betty Faye Haraway Tribute Fund. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Ada Rotary Club.
