Charles Orra "Chuck" Hancock
August 14, 1936 ~ November 28, 2018 (age 82)

Charles "Chuck" Orra Hancock was born August 14, 1936 in Jenkins, Missouri to Laura Lovena (Cope) and Jesse Luther Hancock. He passed away November 28, 2018 at Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 3 months and 14 days.

Charles grew up in Jenkins, Missouri where he attended high school at Galena High School graduating in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served 3 tours in Vietnam and during the Cuban Crisis. He traveled throughout the world and was stationed in various places with the Marines and was a proud and patriotic veteran. During his time of service he was married to Kathleen Marie (Ruppel) Hancock on January 1, 1964 in Alton, Illinois and to this union 4 children were born. After his discharge in 1981 Charles and Kathleen moved back to Missouri for a short period of time before moving to Western Oklahoma in 1982 when he worked in the oil field, railroad and the prison until his retirement in 2016. Charles enjoyed working and gardening with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Violet Maxwell and 1 brother, Harold Hancock.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, of the home; 4 children, Shirl Brittain and husband, Gail, Elk City, OK, Glenna Davis and husband, Ricky, Lookeba, OK, Jessica Kennemer and husband, Kevin, Sayre, OK and James Hancock and wife, Renea, Reydon, OK; 13 grandchildren, Adam Brittain, Tyler Carlile, Emma May, Patrick Mincher, Quinton Mincher, Chelse Terry, Shelby Kennemer, Josie Kennemer, Tristin Hancock, Cole Hancock and Lacey Hancock, Amanda Gudgell and Sarah Quinlivan; 7 great grandchildren, Carissa May, Jensen May, Ryla May, Reece Holland and Levi Holland, Caroline Gudgell and Davis Gudgell; 1 sister, Glenna Hammond and husband, Jerry, Michigan and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018, 10:00 AM at Rose Chapel officiated by Monte Tucker. Graveside services in Missouri will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service and condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
