A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Michael Charles Hamil, 71, of Enid, will be Saturday, January 9, 2016, 10:00 AM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Cremation is under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Michael was born August 17, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Ok the son of Clifford Hamil and Emma (Sue) Wehrenberg Hamil Mooney and passed away December 29, 2015. He was raised in Loyal, OK by his grandparents, Grover and Essie Hamil. He and his grandmother moved to Enid in 1956. In 2002, Michael moved in with his brother and his wife and he moved to Highland Park Manor in April 2015
Michael made friends wherever he went, in his neighborhood, church and in the nursing home. Michael was loved by all who knew him. He was a happy person who laughed and was positive about life. He was viewed by his family as a gift from God. His hobbies were recording the weather each day, keeping up with city council and watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Michael attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and loved the choir.
Michael is survived by his mother. Emma Hamil-Mooney, a brother, Dennis Hamil and his wife Marie of Enid, two sisters, Carolyn Cassell of San Deigo, CA and Sharon Piazza and her husband Jim of Acworth, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dexeus Oncology Clinic, Garland Road Health and Rehab Center and Ross Health Care Hospice for the wonderful care Michael received.
