Bob Haller, 86 year old Woodward resident died Thursday, April 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Faith United Methodist Church, with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Robert LeRoy Haller, Sr. was born on June 16, 1937 in Mooreland, Oklahoma the son of Jesse Edwin and Fairy Faye (Munsell) Haller. Bob grew up on a farm north of Mooreland, and attended the Black country school until age 16 when his family moved into Mooreland. Bob graduated from Mooreland High School. He was united in marriage to Lavera Schneider on October 19, 1957. He and Lavera made their home in Woodward. The couple also lived in Perryton, Texas for a short time, before returning to Woodward to raise their family. Bob worked as a Lumber Foreman and Maintenance Supervisor before he retired.
Bob enjoyed his family. He taught all his children to change a tire and check their oil. He would take off work to go to his kids aid if their car had broke down no matter when or where. Bob loved his grandchildren, he would often play in the sandbox with them. He enjoyed hunting and gardening, he was also the church lawn caretaker for several years.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert Haller and wife Sandy; Peggy Loomis and husband Darwin; Linda Huff and husband Roger; Janet Crawford; 11 grandchildren, Megan and Palmer Smith; Matt and Roseanne Loomis; Chad and Meredith Crawford; Donnie and Kathryn Crawford; Jesse and James Strickler; Christy and Eric Buckmaster; R. J. and Jill Huff; Jesse Huff; Chelsea Slape; Karen and Jesse Highfill; Katie and Edwin Jimenez; Robert and Cherie Haller; 23 great-grandchildren, Rawin; Baron and Hendrix Smith; Hudson Loomis; Gracelynn and Gentry Buckmaster; Adalynn and Rhett Huff; Campbell and Leonie Crawford; Cassidy and Emily Crawford; Hank Strickler; Jacoby, Dillon, Dawson, and Kameron Highfill; Adryan, Carly, and Avery Wilson; Emily Jimenez; Andie and Alex Haller; sister in law, Marlene Haller; brother, Bill Haller and wife Earlene; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Lavera, sister, Cheryl Gillette, brother, Jim Haller, brother and sister in law, Lynn and Judy Haller, sisters and brothers in law, Virginia and Earl Hayes, Lona Mae and Cecil Rogers, son in law, Don Crawford, great grandchildren, Kendall Highfill and Kenleigh Loomis.
To all the special hospice and Providence Place, the family so appreciated the special care he received. He was the designated door greeter and often told everyone he loved them.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
