M.D. HALE - Memorial services for M.D. Hale of Marietta were conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Officiating was Rev. Bob Brown.
Born March 12, 1922, at Old Allison in Bryan County, Mr. Hale died May 27, 1999, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 77. He was the son of Orbin C. and Gussie Taylor Hale.
A resident of Marietta since 1974, Mr. Hale served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was supervisor with the Farmers Home Administration until his retirement in 1976. Afterwards, he started M.D. Hale Real Estate from which he retired after 22 years. Mr. Hale was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former Mason.
Mr. Hale and the former Ima Ruth Cupp were married July 30, 1948, at Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Hale of the home in Marietta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Patti Hale of Tahlequah and Rodney and Jan Hale of Hollis; two daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Ann Simmons of Oklahoma City and Katrena Jan and Tim McCollum of Morgan Hill, California; two brothers, J.C. Hale and Jimmy Hale of Grand Prairie, Texas; seven sisters, Loretta Cook and Mildred Hastings of Grand Prairie, Reba Mangum of De Soto, Texas, Retha Dokupil of Seattle, Washington, Trula Pennington of Hawkins, Texas, Bobbi Van Name of Bedford, Texas, and Nadine Calhoun of Mesquite, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jason Simmons of Bradenton, Florida, Amie Ann Simmons of Oklahoma City, David Hale of Tulsa, Bradley Hale of Tahlequah, Brett Hale of Hollis, and Jacob McCollum and Chelsea McCollum of Morgan Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were directed by Kennedy Funeral Home.
