Michael Luis Hailey, born 1956 in San Francisco, California, passed away October 12, 2020 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 64.
Michael was a member of the First Christian Church of Tecumseh, Oklahoma. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at the age of 12.
Michael attended Shawnee High School before enlisting in the United States Army at the age of 17, where he served as an infantryman from 1973-76.
fter his military service, Mike met the love of his life Nancy Moore and they were married 6 months later. Their marriage and love for each other set the standard for all who knew them, and exemplified the meaning of the term soulmates. Together they had 3 children, Michael Luis Hailey Jr., Joseph Hailey, and Angela Hailey, who affectionately called their father "Daddio."
Michael graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002 with a Master's degree in Physical Therapy, and he worked at St. Anthony's Hospital and SSM Health Clinic in Shawnee for the last 23 years.
Michael loved OU sports, the Dallas Cowboys football team, and was a voracious reader of science fiction. A devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, our Daddio was the rock of our family and is sorely missed.
The family would like to thank the staff and his coworkers at St. Anthony's Hospital for their extraordinary efforts while Mike was in their care. There will never be enough words to honor the love and compassion shown to Mike and his family in his final moments.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents: Gene Randall Hailey, Hazel Ilene Steiner, and step-father Harold Keisling.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Moore Hailey, son Michael Luis Hailey Jr. and spouse Amy Hailey and their children Mike, Kenzie, Carter, Aspen, and Sienna Hailey; son Joseph Hailey and spouse Ashleigh Shepherd and their daughter Adrianne Hailey; daughter Angela Hailey and spouse Nathan King and their children A.J., Aria , and baby girl King; Michael's siblings Patti Hailey, Tim Hailey, Marie Hailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
"End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it...white shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise." - J.R.R. Tolkien
