Donald Gay Haight
July 28, 1955 ~ April 26, 2023

Donald Gay Haight, 68-year old Woodward resident, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Enid Oklahoma. A private family celebration of life has been held.

Donald Gay Haight was born July 28, 1955 to Harold Sr. and Bertie Haight in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Donald spent his early years growing up in Cherokee, Sharon, and Woodward. After completing his high school education, he joined the Army Reserves. He later received his CDL and worked in the oilfield for many years.

He loved being with his family and cooking outside. Fishing was another passion and he was always looking for the bigger fish. He spent several years on bowling leagues. He loved being with his friends and was always willing to help-out where needed.

He is survived by his sister Barbara and husband Scott Buchanan, brother Norman and his wife Marie Haight. Niece & nephews: Melissa Jones, Melody Byrd, Jean-Paul Beaulieu, Christine, Colleen, and Chad Haight. Many other relatives and close friends.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Bertie Haight, one brother Harold Jr., his son Bobbie Jo Haight, one niece Marla Willard and nephew Leroy Jones.

His sister Barbara describes him as a happy soul. When you first meet him you feel the joy he has in his heart. He was very humble with a cheerful disposition. Outgoing and always willing to go the extra mile. He was a gentle man and a child of God.

His brother Norman states, "rest in peace brother", I love you.

His niece Melody states, "go catch that bigger fish now", I will miss your fishing stories.
