Wilford Wayne Hackner, Sr.
August 5, 1941 ~ November 29, 2022

Wilford Wayne Hackner, Sr. was born August 5, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas to Robert and Natalia (Grant) Hackner. He passed away November 29, 2022 in Drumright, Oklahoma at the age of 81.

Wilford grew up in Kansas City, KS where his mother, an accomplished jazz pianist, and father inspired his musical passion at an early age. He learned to play the piano, clarinet, saxophone but developed a lifelong passion for the guitar. He quickly became an accomplished guitarist allowing him to play with several musical bands in Chicago and Kansas City and form groups off and on throughout his life in Oklahoma. He would spend hours listening to his extensive collection of various musicians and vocalists on 78, 33, and 45 vinyl records, cassette tapes and 8-track tapes. His interests and aptitude for electronics and mechanics gained him employment as a skilled Aircraft electrician at Tinker AFB and later at Lockheed Martin until his retirement. This same skillset allowed him to pursue his car hobby where he efficiently repaired and replaced motors and electronic appliances. His drafting and woodwork abilities enabled him to build several garage structures and eventually his retirement home.

Throughout his life he gladly shared his passions, time and knowledge with friends and family.

Wilford Sr. truly enjoyed traveling whether on his BMW 960 to meet friends and fellow touring motorcyclist at various motorcycle club rallies across the U.S. and Canada or by vehicle or plane to visit friends and relatives.

Wilford was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Natalia Hackner; sister, Lawanna Bruner.

Survivors include his former wife and partner, Angkhana (Belle) Hackner of the home; children, Wilford Hackner, Jr. and his wife Deniz of Washington D.C., Anthony Hackner and his wife Michelle of Austin, TX.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel.
