Garry D. Gwin
November 23, 1948 ~ March 12, 2022

Garry D. Gwin, 73, of Moore, OK passed away on March 12, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, OK. Garry was born November 23, 1948 in Marietta, OK, the son of Troy Arthur and Irene Missouri (Dean) Gwin.

Garry grew up and attended school in Marietta. He joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar. Garry married the love of his life Kathy Ramsey on May 16, 1970 in Oklahoma City, OK. He worked in commercial construction as a painter/drywall finisher. Garry was a black belt in Karate, and he was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed shooting his 22-caliber pistol, Ruger 10/22, but mostly his Mossberg 500 shotgun and was good at performing tricks with it. He was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ.

Garry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Gwin of the home; sons, Steven Gwin and wife Charla of Marietta, Jeremy Gwin of Moore, and Adam Gwin and wife Gale of Moore; brother, Kenny Gwin of Marietta; grandchildren, Mila, Ryliegh, Wyatt, Jase and Zoey Gwin, Conner Burge, Grant Harmon, Brantley McCart, Trent and Denton Johnson; great-granddaughter, Brynlee Burge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Garry is preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Don Gwin and Troy Vernon Gwin.

Services to celebrate the life of Garry will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Marietta Church of Christ with Pastor Chase Green officiating and Allen Woody and Steven Gwin assisting. Cremation has been entrusted to Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marietta.

Honorary bearers are Steven Gwin, Jeremy Gwin, Adam Gwin, Wyatt Gwin, Jase Gwin, Jimmy Gwin, Kenny Gwin, Brantley McCart, Trent Johnson, Denton Johnson, Brandon Gwin, and Grant Harmon.
