It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Lisa Guthrie who departed this life on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Vici, Oklahoma at the age of 70. Lisa strongly fought a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, never giving up. She led a life of love, friendship and strength and devotion to her family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Lisa (Williams) Guthrie was born on July 6, 1955, in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Billy Don Williams and Beverly (Bell) Williams. She attended Woodward schools, graduating from Woodward High School in 1973. Lisa was united in marriage to David Carlisle Guthrie Jr on December 29, 1973, at the First Christian Church in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Waynoka, Oklahoma later transferring to Woodward.
Lisa was a very talented artist and received many awards and accolades over the years. She was a lifetime member of the Lilac Garden Club. She was also a member of the Woodward County Extension Homemakers. David and Lisa also spent many years as members of the Woodward Rodders and enjoyed traveling with their three daughters to car shows all over the state of Oklahoma in their 1965 Ford Mustangs. Lisa wrote the definition of a professional homemaker and attended every event for all four of her children. You could find her driving back and forth multiple times a day, every day of the week on Highway 412 from the family farm to dance recitals, sporting events, band practices, and many cattle shows.
She is survived by her husband David of the home. She is survived by her four children, Candace McGinnis and husband Billie of Norman, OK, Allison Guthrie of Woodward, OK, Natalie Sullivan and husband Matt of Richmond, TX and William Guthrie and wife Courtney of Woodward, OK; Brother Billy Don Williams, Jr. and wife Robin of Edmond, Sister Linda Molone and husband Don of Woodward. Lisa was a very proud Meme to five grandchildren, Alexandra McGinnis of Norman, OK, Jackson Sullivan of Richmond, TX, Corbin Sullivan of Richmond, TX, Waylon Guthrie of Woodward, OK and Wyatt Guthrie of Woodward, OK; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws David Carlisle Guthrie Sr and Muriel (Rogers-Wood) Guthrie.
Lisa's family would like to extend a very sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Vici Nursing Home and Good Shepherd Hospice.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Vici Nursing Home with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
