Emerson Ray Guthrie

Emerson Ray Guthrie
November 22, 1942 ~ October 9, 2020

Emerson Ray Guthrie, son of Emerson and Dona Ann (Dooley) Guthrie, was born on November 22, 1942 in Little Blue, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at 77 years of age.

Ray was a good provider for his family and a very hard worker. He was a Veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Ray and Carley were married in September of 1988 and began their life together. Ray was the best husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend to his family and friends, who loved him very much. He was always there for Carley, the kids and the whole family through good times and hard times. Ray was their “Rock”.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Emerson and Dona Guthrie.

A devoted family survives him, they include his wife of over 32 years: Carley (Thorn) Guthrie of the home near Stilwell, OK, his children: Donna Hayes and husband Dewayne of Roland, OK, Lynn Hamlin and James Guthrie of Roland, Tressa Guthrie of Sallisaw, OK, LaDonna Bailey and husband Dewayne of Westville, OK, Donald Guthrie of Westville, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister: Anna Mae Sellers of Stilwell, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Jerry Sellers officiating.
