Doyle Lee Guthrie

January 5, 1943 ~ July 7, 2013

Doyle Lee Guthrie, son of Edmond Victor and Dona Annabell (Smith) Guthrie, was born on January 5, 1943 in Westville, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Doyle was a lifelong resident of the Westville area. He was well known and liked in the community. Doyle married Glenita Randolph on March 25, 1962 and they were blessed with a wonderful, loving family.

Doyle lived the American dream. He loved his glory days on the football field in high school as a Westville Yellowjacket. While in high school he worked for the Westville Reporter and discovered he enjoyed the printing business. Upon high school graduation, Doyle was recruited by OU and Arkansas to play football but he chose to marry the love of his life and continue his printing career. In 1968, Doyle and Glenita purchased Siloam Springs Printing which is still in business today. Doyle loved to play and spend time with his buddies. From the fishing trips, the golf course wagers, the hunting seasons, coffee shop time, camping with the travel club and more, he made memories with his friends and family.

If you had asked Doyle what the most important thing was in his life, the answer would have been family. Sunday family dinners, group family vacations, following his grandkid's activities and spending time with his wife "Precious"" were some of his favorite things.

Preceding Doyle in death was his father: Vic Guthrie and brother: Gene Guthrie.

He is survived by his wife: Glenita Guthrie of the home in Westville, OK, mother: Donabelle Guthrie of Westville, children: Angela Bird of Watts, OK, Vicki Reece and husband Rowdy of Westville, Doyle Glenn (Toad) Guthrie of Siloam Springs, AR, Jim Guthrie and wife Tammie of Westville, grandchildren: Aimee Cherry and husband Brenton Cherry of Summers, AR, Tara Wolf and husband Justin of Tahlequah, OK, Trenton Bird of Watts, Miranda Reece and boyfriend Donnie Morrison of Westville, Matt Reece and wife Allyson of Kansas City, MO, Whitney Mae Reece of Westville and her fianc' Tyler Keith Perry, Micah Guthrie of Siloam Springs, Bryce Guthrie of Westville, Gabrielle Guthrie of Westville, five great grandchildren: Damian Davis, Sarah Wolf, Shelby Cherry, Alexis Cherry and Hunter Wesley Cain, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Westville School Auditorium, Westville, Oklahoma with Lloyd Cole speaking. Interment will be at Old Union Cemetery, Cincinnati, Arkansas.
