Cali Guthrie, a cherished daughter, sister, niece, grandaughter and cousin and resident of Durant, Oklahoma left this life too soon, on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at the age of 21 years 6 months and 9 days. She was born on February 13, 1996 to James 'Jay' Guthrie and Julie (Anderson) Brown.
Cali graduated from Durant High School in 2014. She enjoyed sports, especially soccer, and softball, which she was a natural. Cali had a loving heart, she was drawn to children, and they in turn were drawn to her. She had a "heart of gold" and a smile that would shine through, and light up the room wherever she went. Cali loved people, and she never met a stranger. Cali's absence from the lives of those who loved her will be felt forever, but her memory, spirit & presence will always be with them.
Cali is survived by her mothers, Julie Brown of Durant, Oklahoma, and Dede Guthrie of Alvord, Texas; fathers, Craig Brown of Durant, Oklahoma, and Jay Guthrie of Decatur,Texas; beloved siblings, Brittni Johnson of Roberta, Oklahoma, Josh Brown of Midlothian, Texas, Brett Guthrie of Durant, Oklahoma, Tanner Guthrie of Durant, Oklahoma, twin sister Kali Guthrie of Durant, Oklahoma, Reagan Guthrie of Alvord, Texas, and Jayton Guthrie of Alvord, Texas; grandparents, Judy Harper of Calera, Oklahoma, Christine Beard of Decatur Texas, Neta Knipe of Durant, Oklahoma, and Sherry Anderson of Durant, Oklahoma; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Cali was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Junior Pigg and Mike Anderson; and uncle, Russell Anderson.
A gathering of family, and friends, will be from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday August 25th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration in honor of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday August 26th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Rev. Jim Hodson officiating.
