John Henry Guinn

John Henry Guinn
December 26, 1937 ~ May 26, 2015

 John Henry Guinn, son of George and Lula (Dillard) Guinn, was born on December 26, 1937 in Westville, Oklahoma and passed from this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years and 5 months. 

John was born in Westville and grew up there. He enlisted in the Army in March of 1955. John was active in the Army until April 1958 and was stationed in France for part of his enlistment. He then transferred to the Army Reserves until his commitment was up in May of 1963. 

Upon his transfer from Active to Reserve, John moved to Kansas City early in 1958 and was married there in July of the same year. While in Kansas City, He worked construction and then at a Grain Elevator for Far-Mar-Co / Farmland Industries for 17 years, several of those as the Night Shift Foreman. 

In 1980 he returned to the Piney Community in Oklahoma and started his own excavation business which he ran for the next 25+ years. 

John was preceded in death by his parents: George and Lula Guinn, stepmother: Lula (Lane) Guinn, brothers: Richard, Louie, Byg, 2 infants siblings, 2 sisters: Juanita Hitcher and Reda Bagby. 

He is survived by a large family that includes his son: Eric Guinn and wife Lori of Kansas City, KS, grandson: Dalton Guinn of Kansas City, KS, granddaughter: Natisha Flores of Independence, MO, 2 great grandchildren, brothers: Linzy, Leo and Dandy Guinn of Westville, OK, Ogie and Jerry Guinn of Stilwell, OK, sisters: Korean McGowen and Gail Hall of Westville, OK, Betty Presley of Tahlequah, OK, Marie Martin of Kansas, OK, Bertha Creel of Ft. Smith, AR, June Rice of Mitchell, SD, Lindy Csizmadia of Muskogee,  OK, Lena Gruel of Pryor, OK. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends also survive him.
