Corrine Guilbeau, of Durant, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born on October 9, 1942, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Claud Bryant and Vivian Kathern (Oakley) Crouch. She married the love of her life, Artie/Orty Guilbeau, on June 28, 1956 in Louisiana.
Corrine spent most of her life caring for others; a calling she fulfilled with grace and dedication as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to her work left a mark on the lives of many. Corrine found peace and strength in her Christian beliefs. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to her favorite Christian music CDs from Diana Nix, and reading her Bible. These simple pleasures were the foundation upon which she built a life of love and service to others.
Although Corrine was small in stature, she had more spunk than others twice her size. One of her favorite sayings was “dynamite comes in small packages”. She had a mind of her own and would often let you know what was on it.
She is survived by a loving and extensive family, including her son Shannon N. Guilbeau and wife Jackie of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter Bylynn VanZandt of Durant, Oklahoma; son Daniel Guilbeau of Alma, Arkansas; son Randell Guilbeau and wife Sharon of Arkansas; daughter Thelma Coletta of Durant, Oklahoma; son Linston Orty Guilbeau of Durant, Oklahoma; and stepdaughter Judy Vinluan and husband George of Colleton, South Carolina. Corrine's legacy also lives on through her cherished siblings, older sisters Gazell and Willma Dean of Texas, and her little brother David N. Crouch of Oklahoma.
Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, including Shannon Guilbeau, Jr., Malerie Guilbeau, Ethan Guilbeau, Crystal Guilbeau, Joe Fine, Ashley Crawford, Danielle Coletta, John Coletta, Kacie VanZandt, Savannah LaDawn Argo, James VanZandt, Ryan VanZandt, T.J. (Thomas) Satterlee, Brianna Heath, Winston Guilbeau, Brandon Guilbeau, Randell Guilbeau, Jr., Marsha Painter, Cassandra Black, Dalton Guilbeau, Frankie Guilbeau, Jessica Garner, Amber Johnston, Daniel Lee Guilbeau, Shaunell Guilbeau, and Steasha Guilbeau, as well as her 82 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Corrine was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Claud and Vivian Crouch; her husband, Artie/Orty Guilbeau; her son, Winston Paul Guilbeau; grandsons Nathan Jeston Guilbeau and Arron Stephen Guilbeau; and her sisters. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her every day.
Family and friends will gather at her Family Hour at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Victory Tabernacle in Durant, with Pastor Doyle A. Pair officiating.
Those serving as pallbearers are Ryan A. VanZandt, Shannon Guilbeau, Jr., Joe Fine, Brandon Guilbeau, Ethan Guilbeau, Winston Guilbeau, John Coletta, Randell Guilbeau, Jr., and Kyle Shacklefor.
