Lahoma Eulene (Davis) Guffey
April 27, 1917 ~ December 2, 2013

Lahoma Eulene Guffey, aged 96, died peacefully on December 2, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Eulene was born April 27, 1917, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the 5th of 6 children born to Andrew Jackson Davis and Anna Belle Pierce Davis.

 Eulene and her family moved to Tuttle, Oklahoma before settling in the Capitol Hill area of Oklahoma City in 1928. She attended Capitol Hill Jr. High School where she was a cheerleader. The great depression cut her education short so she could help her mother support her family after her father"s death.

In 1935, Eulene married James Fred Guffey, and the couple traveled with the oil field until 1942 when they settled in the Oklahoma City area. To this union two children were born, Deanna Gayle and James Dale "Jimmy" Guffey. In 1954 Fred and Eulene opened Joyland Skating Rink in Midwest City, the couple owned and operated Joyland for 14 years until their son, Jimmy, was killed in Vietnam in 1968. After closing the skating rink their time was spent traveling the country extensively. Eulene loved fishing, dancing and her family. She enjoyed garage sales, gardening and cooking for her family, and was a member of the Gold Star Parents Club.

Eulene is survived by her daughter, Gayle and her husband Jesse Wallis. Four grandchildren: Tammy and her husband David Farris; Tracy and her husband Greg Breslin; Deana and her husband Jim Shuffield; and James Roche" and his wife Michelle. 10 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
