Tonya Irene (Miller) Gruenewald

Tonya Irene (Miller) Gruenewald
October 7, 1941 ~ January 11, 2023

Tonya Irene (Miller) Gruenewald passed from this life at the age of 81 in Perkins, OK. Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.

Tonya was one of four children born to Fred and Margaret “Maggie” (Floyd) Miller. Not long after high school, Tonya decided that she wanted to be a stewardess and travel. She married Herbert Gruenewald and they together travelled to Europe many times.

When you spent time with Tonya, you immediately knew that she was a free-spirited soul but had so much grace and charm. She loved to tell cute and hilarious stories about her animals. One of her favorite animals was her little British Griffon, Honeydew. Tonya also loved to work with the St Jude charity where she was a volunteer and able to work with some very big Hollywood names like Danny Thomas and also was the secretary for Thalians for founding member Debbie Reynolds. Not only did Tonya give to her community through her charity work, but she also loved to bring cake to the police station, especially on the anniversary of 09/11.

Tonya was so proud to be a follower of Christ getting baptized into the Church of the Firstborn. She remained faithful to her God for the rest of her life. Tonya will be missed for her beautiful, expressive green eyes, her brave and gutsy personality and her love for her community and friends.

Tonya is preceded in death by her two brothers, Bob and Jack Miller.

She is survived by her sister Barbara, her dear cousins Judy and Barbara and her dear friends Gladys, Betty and Joan.

A Celebration of Life Service at Perkins Church of the Firstborn on January 21, 2023, at 11AM. Tonya's church family wishes to thank all the residents who visited with Miss Tonya and became friends along with the residents who were of help to her in many areas, we send our sincere gratitude.
