Billy Wayne Grider
May 10, 1960 ~ January 26, 2024

It is with deep sorrow to announce that Billy Wayne Grider, 64, of Sherman, Texas, passed away in his sleep peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was a devoted father and most special brother and son. Born May 10th, 1960 in Bonham, Texas to Jesse Grider and Clorene Musgrove (Grider) Newsom.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Grider, grandparents Bill and Eva Musgrove, Frank and Vinnie Grider. Lastly, his true love Nancy Cheshier.

Billy is survived by his Mother Clorene Newsom of Achille, his sisters Elladean Waldrum of Denison , Kelly Grider of Albany and brother Jesse Grider of Sherman. Loyal companion and running buddy Georgey. Billy is also survived by his only child Holly Grider of Achille.

Billy grew up in Albany, Oklahoma. He went on to attend schools in Yuba and graduated from Achille, OK. Billy was a man of many talents. He retired from the city of Sherman in 1990. He loved all things buy, sell, and trade. He was a wonderful painter, and passionate in woodworking he even had his daughter her own set of woodworking tools as a child. His favorite activity was riding his Kubota Tractor. He enjoyed country and rock music. He raised his Holly girl on artists like Conway Twitty and Steve Earle. He was a lifelong lover of dogs and raised many litters of Schnauzers-his most prized baby being the famous “Dollar Bill ''. Billy was known by loved ones for his infectious smile and witty humor. Billy was giving, kind, affectionate, a peacemaker and helped everybody he possibly could. His proudest day was the moment his daughter Holly was born. Until his last breath, she was the star of his eye.

It’s not often that life brings us someone as special as Billy, and we feel fortunate to have known him when he was with us. We’re sorry to say goodbye but know that he deserves a beautiful ceremony, so please join us at Trinity Lighthouse Church at a date to be announced to honor and celebrate Billy’s life.
