Cecil Orvan Grell of Braman, Oklahoma, died Wednesday morning, May 3, 2017, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital at the age of 85 years.
Cecil Orvan Grell was born on March 21, 1932, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Richard Evald and Bessie Edith (Hunter) Grell. He attended Braman Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1950. He married Phyllis Ann Akers on January 18, 1951, in Braman, Oklahoma. He was a welder, mechanic and lifetime farmer and rancher. He enjoyed fishing, setting jug lines and deer hunting, especially in Colorado. He loved spending time with friends and family and going to his grandchildren's activities.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Phyllis Ann Grell of Braman, Oklahoma; three daughters, Carol DeWitt and husband Dale of Braman, Oklahoma, Janell LeValley and husband Harold of Braman, Oklahoma, and Trudy Rowe and husband Danny of Blackwell, Oklahoma; one son, Richard Edwin Grell of Braman, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Garrett DeWitt of Burbank, California, Camille DeWitt Holt and husband Barclay of Shattuck, Oklahoma, Joshua LeValley and wife Tammy of Prembroke Pines, Florida, Brandon Grell and Wife Sondra of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Tyson Rowe and wife Whitney of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Dustin Grell and wife Amber of Braman, Oklahoma, Clinton Grell and wife Kelli of Wichita, Kansas, Haley Rowe Smith and husband Casey of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Natalie Grell Norman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cameron Grell of Norman, Oklahoma; twelve great grandchildren, Drake DeWitt, Daelyn DeWitt, Logan Holt, Kaylee Holt, Bryan Holt, Bree Rowe, Grant Rowe, Tylee Rowe, Emersen Smith, Brady Norman, Hayden Grell and Kipton Grell; and two great grandchildren on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ivan Grell; one infant brother; and one grandson, Adam Blake LeValley.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Braman Methodist Church, Braman, Oklahoma, with Rev. Trish Harris and C.M. Wilson Officiating.
Honorary bearers will be Garrett DeWitt, Camille DeWitt Holt, Joshua LeValley, Brandon Grell, Tyson Rowe, Dustin Grell, Clinton Grell, Haley Rowe Smith, Natalie Grell Norman and Cameron Grell.
A memorial in his honor has been established with the Braman Methodist Church c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
