Phyllis House Gregg, 87, Elgin, was born September 17, 1926 in Holly Springs, Arkansas to Volney and Bertha (Rogers) House. She died peacefully at home Friday, April 4, 2014 with her family at her side.

Phyllis was raised in Sheridan, AR where she attended the local schools. After graduating high school she attended Henderson State College in AR.

She met Donald Gregg and they were married in Sheridan in 1947. Phyllis and Donald moved to Tulsa and then to Bartlesville where they made a home for their family and raised their two children.

She worked at Vandever's and Martin's department store where she sold hats. Phyllis was known for her work with the Home Extension Club "Eager to Grow", was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and United Daughters of Confederacy, and was a caller for the Meals on Wheels program. Phyllis was a competitive swimmer and a member of the US Maste's Swimming team and the Tulsa Master's Club where she won numerous medals, even competing up into her late 70s. Phyllis was also known for her award-winning cinnamon rolls that won at the county fair every year! She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Volney and Bertha; her husband, Donald; and a son, David.

Survivors include her son, Phillip and wife Faye of Elgin and a grandson, Timothy of Stillwater. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice, 1836 NW 52nd St, Lawton, OK, 73505.
